Solar based Ozone Treatment
Smaat has introduced Solar based ozone treatment plants for disinfection of drinking water and waste water. This can disinfect any type of viral, bacterial contamination in any kind of application and any required volume (10000 m3/hour).
Smaat has developed and installed these plants to various Government schemes in RWS, ITC Hotels and Taj Group of Hotels.
Solar energy solutions
Solar energy is the radiant light and heat from the sun that has been harnessed by humans since ancient times using a range of ever-evolving technologies solar radiation along with secondary solar resources such as wind and wave power, hydroelectricity and biomass account for most of the available renewable energy on Earth. Only a minuscule fraction of the available solar energy is directly used by humans.
Solar energy technologies can provide electrical generation by heat engine or photovoltaic means. Once converted its uses are only limited by human ingenuity.
A partial list of applications would include space heating and cooling through solar architecture, potable Water via distillation and disinfection, day lighting, hot water , thermal energy for cooking, and high temperature process heat for industrial purposes.
Functions
- Greater disinfection effectiveness against bacteria and viruses as compared to chlorination
- Reduce the concentration of Iron, Manganese, Sulphur in the water to form insoluble metal oxides or elemental sulphur
- Organic particles and chemicals will be eliminated through either coagulation or chemical

Smaat ROThe Reverse osmosis (RO) technology is very effective at removing bacteria, pyrogens, and organic contaminants. It is effectively used to reduce dissolved solids from feed waters with salinities up to 45,000 ppm TDS (total dissolved solids). Municipalities and industrial facilities are able to use RO permeate as a consistently pure drinking water supply and to transform drinking water to high purity water for industrial use at microelectronics, food and beverage, power, and pharmaceutical facilities.
The Reverse Osmosis process relies on a semi-permeable membrane, which allows water to pass through under high pressure while membrane acting as a barrier to dissolved solids, like minerals, salts or organic compounds.
The Smaat RO membrane consists of a sheet of thin polymer layer surrounded on a porous support, and rolled in a spiral configuration around a plastic tube, the SmaatRO membrane do not have a definite pour size, how ever they are so small to prevent even the smallest bacteria and viruses from passing through.
